Durova test fail

I'm a pre-2006 enwiki sysop yet I got a 10 (ok, but depending on mood could go down to 6 ;)

Now, care to elaborate why 2006 is such a key year ?

I managed to score a 0. I'm just plain fail.

2.B deserves at least 0.25 points, don't you think? :) Seriously though, that's probably the only real difference between admin and arb...sadly.

As for 10.C...Why would you want to do that to yourself?

Eswiki: I wouldn't dare suggest that all of our pre-2006 sysops deserve to score a 5. Many of them are fine and dedicated individuals.

But back in the days when it really wasn't a big deal, y'know, a few really...colorful?...personalities got the bit.

I'd say things changed well before 2006. Even before my RFA (mid-2005) "use of edit summaries" became important. Even before that, Jguk came up with his "one FA for support" rule and boothy had his "oppose everyone" phase. Things like that changed RFA from "no big deal" to "jump through these hoops". But 2005-2006 saw a flood of what I will call 'third wavers" or "fourth wavers" (depending on your perspective) and the atmosphere in the project changed a lot. It was around then that it really became impossible to know "everyone" (or all the really active editors). That changed RFA. No longer could you vote just on your "sense" of people, you had to look at their record.

I'd say pre-2005 RFA really was "no big deal". After 2006, it really was a big deal.

So that's why I was able to become an Admin; & I'm probably still one because my eccentricities don't outweigh my limited usefulness. (Honestly, there are moments I wonder if I could get the bit currently. I suck at politics.)

FWIW, I managed to score a perfect 10. (My answer to #10 was B.) Either Durova & I think too much alike, or I should pay my dues & serve a term on ArbCom.

Maybe that's a hint that you should run for ArbCom? ;) Cheers!
